Installed, between $7.25 and $12.75 per square foot depending on the wear layer you choose. That is the complete number including tear-out of your old floor, haul-away, quarter round and clean-up. A 1,200 square foot house at our most popular tier is about $11,700.
The wear layer is the clear coat on top that takes all the abuse, measured in mils. For a rental or a low-traffic room, 12 to 16 mil is fine. For a family home with dogs, 20 mil is the sweet spot and what most of our customers pick. 22 to 28 mil is for houses that take a beating and people who never want to think about it again.
The plank itself is, yes. Every floor we sell has a waterproof core, so a dishwasher leak or a dog accident will not swell or delaminate it the way laminate does. Water that sits for days can still get under the floor through the seams, so a real flood is still a real problem, but ordinary household spills are a non-event.
Often yes, over tile, vinyl or well-bonded sheet goods if it is flat and sound. Over carpet, never. We check the subfloor when we measure and tell you then, not after we have started and found a reason to raise the price.
Immediately. Floating LVP needs no cure time, so you can walk on it the moment the last plank goes down and we will move your furniture back the same day.
